Theme Parks Perfect For Little Kids

Spring is here therefore with longer evenings plus Easter and Summer Holidays not far away parents and carers will be planning ahead as to how to keep the little ones amused during their breaks. A day trip out to a theme park is always popular with the kids but not all rides and attractions are suitable for smaller children. Here we take a look at some of the theme parks that do cater for little ones, where they are located and what they offer in terms of entertainment.

This fantastic theme park is located in Worcestershire and is easy to find whether travelling from further north, south or travelling by train to Kidderminster that is only four miles from the leisure park. There are so many things to see here including safari animals that will delight your children whatever age they are.

When it comes to rides West Midland Safari and Leisure Park does not forget the smaller kids as the little ones have a designated rides area in The Tiny Tots Theme Park. This section of the park has seven different rides and attractions for small kids to enjoy, while height restrictions apply therefore making sure your child fits the bill before paying in advance is advisable.

Rides featured include, Flying Pandas, this ride does move round and round plus upwards but not too high for the little ones to enjoy it safely. Serengeti Travellers, kids travel to a land of fairy tales on this colourful ride. Simba Kiddies Train, travel through the jungle in style on this fabulous little train. Animal Ark, kids love the movement of this ride as it sways on the water.

Moroccan Magic Carpet, who doesn't want to fly on a magic carpet? Rhino Roundabout, moves at a leisurley pace just how the little ones like it! Red Baron, kids can be a pilot as they sit inside the Red Baron ride.

The park is open from February through to November 2014.

There are three choices when it comes to taking a trip to Gullivers as there is a park located in Warrington, Milton Keynes and Matlock. Gullivers hold specific days aimed at toddlers and pre school children with dates this year being 6th and 26th June or 4th July and 3rd September, although small children are also welcomed all year round.

Parents, teachers or carers who visit the park on these specified dates will gain free entry for all children under the age of five, while the park has many great rides and attractions for the little ones to enjoy. As with all theme parks there are height restrictions on all rides therefore it depends how tall your tot is as to which rides will be deemed appropriate.

Lilliput Land has the Lilliput Loco that small kids will love, a fabulous puppet show and the Hard Luck Bear Jamboree! Lilliput Woods has a superb fire brigade ride too to thrill the kids. Adventure Land features dodgem rides, Toyland has a whole host of rides and attractions to suit the little ones, while Bourbon Street has a great play area, a pirate ship and a chair lift that can be ridden as long as your child sits with an adult.

We think you will agree a trip to Gullivers Theme Park is a must this summer, while the park is open throughout the year.

Alton Towers Theme Park in Staffordshire is well known for its fantastic rides that not only thrill but scare visitors, who wish to ride on them, senseless! Alton Towers also caters for the little ones too which is great if you have older and younger children to keep entertained.

There are fabulous play areas where little ones can play safely while enjoying the fun plus many rides and attractions to thrill the tots making them feel realy grown up like their older siblings. New for 2014 is CBeebies Land where kids can learn all kinds of interesting things through play, while the Twirling Toadstool is a magical ride kids will never forget.

Other great rides and attractions include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ride, the Frog Hopper Roller Coaster, the Driving School attration and last but not least Wobble World that is a fantastic indoor ply area that the weather cannot spoil. Open through to mid November Alton Towers fits the bill for older and younger kids alike.

Lightwater Valley near Ripon North Yorkshire certainly hasn't forgotten the little kids when it comes to rides and attractions. Their Mini Adventures Area caters for kids from one year to five years with great rides such as the Spinning Teacups where adults can also accompany their child if they wish, the Swan Pedal Boats and the Lightwater Express Train that travels all around the park enabling parents and kids to see all the amazing sights of Lightwater Valley.

The Angry Birds Activity Park is another superb area for little kids offering all kinds of Angry Bird themed rides and attractions. Other rides include the Dragon Boats, Noah's Ark with a choice of animal to ride in, a Mini Ferris Wheel and a Young Fun Area where tots can play while being supervised.

Finally don't forget Eagles Creek Farm! Travel around the farm on a tractor to view all the lovely animals as they rest and play. Pigs, Shetland ponies, pygmy goats and donkeys all await your child, while tickets and booking advice is available at The Lightwater Valley website.



Legoland is located in Windsor Surrey and attracts visitors both young and old from all over the UK. Legoland is a fantastic place to spend the day and is very well suited for little kids too especially as the Lego Movie was recently released igniting Lego passion in kids from the age of three upwards.

There isn't much in Legoland that isn't suited to small children as there are so many great areas to visit with great things to see and do. Duplo Valley is amazing with a train, a theatre, and even a safari for the tots to enjoy, while Miniland will amaze the kids as they walk around a huge city all created from Lego!

Pirate Shores is a new attraction for 2014 and is great for all the family to enjoy together, in fact there are tons of things to do with many sights to see in Legoland that kids will never forget this experience ever!

Paultons Park is located in Hampshire and is one of the most popular theme park venues for small children at the moment due to its opening of Peppa Pig World. Anyone who has contact with small children just now will know how very popular Peppa Pig is with the little ones with the thought of seeing Peppa in her home environment the ultimate thrill for a small child.

Peppa Pig World features seven superb rides, a range of attractions, a water splash park and an indoor play area. Kids can go inside Peppa's house, meet Peppa and George her brother and even eat lunch in Daddy Pig's Restaurant!

Rides to please the kids include Seal Falls, Digger Ride, Rabbit Ride, Dragon Roundabout, Teacups and Grandpa Pig's Little Train Ride. Paultons Park also features a superb family water park, The Rio Grande Train that transports visitors around the park, Tiny Tots Town where kids can play on bouncy castles, Land of the Dinosaurs and the Wonderful World of Wind in the Willows. There is so much for little ones to see and do here that one day visiting may not be enough!

Chessington World of Adventures is a fabulous zoo, attractions, rides and all round entertainment village located in the Chessington area not far from London. The zoo alone will keep your little ones entertained for hours, while the park also has many rides and attractions suited to small children keeping them very happy for the duration of their visit.

Chessington World of Adventures Rides for Tots includes Tiny Truckers, Toadie's Crazy Cars, Flying Jumbos, Sea Dragons, Canopy Capers, and the fabulous Jungle Bouncers ride. Rides are not the only thing that will captivate your child as Chessington also puts on a great show where entertainers recreate Madagascar the movie on stage. The singing and dancing portrayed by the entertainers is really very good and the kids just love it!

The Zoofari ride is also great fun here. We took our four year old on the ride and he loved it! Visitors ride along in a large jeep type truck, see lots of animals including giraffes and zebras, get lost enroute and follow a diversion that results in just about everyone getting wet.
